Darlene D. Roedl, 77 of Watertown passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Marquardt Health Center with her family by her side.
Darlene was born on May 27, 1942 the daughter of Arthur and Leonetta (Kachelmeier) Hemp. She was the owner and operator of Nature’s Health Center in Watertown for over 20 years being known to many as “Mother Nature” and for her jovial spirit. Darlene was on the board for the Watertown Humane Society, she was active with the Chamber of Commerce, helped with the Santa House for over 20 years, and she worked in sales and advertising for WTTN Radio receiving many awards for her accomplishments. Darlene had a passion for health and helping others. In her free time she enjoyed gourmet cooking, collecting antiques, and caring for her many pets. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
Darlene is survived by her son Michael (Tami) Powers; 3 grandchildren: Brett (Ashley); Jonathan (Grace); and David. 4 Great-Grandchildren: Jaxon; Ava June; Baye; and Isla. Her brother Dennis (Sue) Hemp and sister Tere Ann Fowler. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Don and Eugene.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home in Watertown with Pastor David Zimmermann presiding. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00pm until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Watertown Humane Society, or the Watertown Main Street Program, or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
