Clarence Butzine

February 16, 1928 — January 31, 2014

Clarence H. Butzine 85, of Watertown passed away on Friday Jan. 31, 2014 at home.
Clarence was born on Feb. 16, 1928 in Watertown the son of Herman and Meta (Puhle) Butzine. He attended Watertown schools. Clarence served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War 1952-54. He married Janet Dantuma on May 22, 1954 at the Watertown Moravian Church. Clarence farmed in the Town of Farmington for 30 years and also worked at Equity Livestock for 20 years. He was a member of Ebenezer Moravian Church where he had served as trustee.
Survivors include: wife Janet of Watertown; son Gordon (Rhonda) of Lake Mills; daughters Barbara (Phil) Hanson of Ulysses, KS and Linda (Todd) Roam of Highland; 7 grandchildren Brittany Hanson, Cody Hanson, Kallee Satern, Weston Satern, Jessica Hanson, Lyndsey Roum and Paula Roum; great granddaughter Everleigh Kuch. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Vera, Evelyn , Ruth and brother Harley. Memorials to Rainbow Hospice or Ebenezer Moravian Church would be appreciated.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday Feb. 5, 2014 at Ebenezer Moravian Church with the Rev. Jane Gehler presiding. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 4-7 pm at the Pederson-Nowatka Funeral Home and on Wednesday 10:00 am until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Ebenezer Moravian Cemetery.
