Charles Detert Jr., 90 of Marshall, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in Lake Mills, WI.
Charles was born on July 4, 1924 in the Town of Medina, the son of Charles and Minnie (Zimmerman) Detert. On August 15, 1951 Chuck married Janet Edwards at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waterloo. Chuck worked as a dairy farmer all his life. He was a member of the County, State, and National Holstein Association and in his early years, enjoyed bowling and playing cards with friends. Chuck was a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Waterloo.
Chuck is survived by: his Wife Janet of Marshall; Sons Jerry (Jean) of Waterloo, and Jon of Marshall; Grandsons Bret (Chelsie) of Brookfield, and Kyle of Brookfield; Sisters Shirley Burgholz of Marshall, and Eunice Taves of Sun Prairie. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, and Brothers Howard and Herbert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Chuck's honor to St. John's Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Waterloo with the Rev. Thomas Wilsmann presiding. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until the time or service at the church.
