Barbara A. “Barb” Seibel, 88, of Watertown, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Sunset Ridge of Johnson Creek.
Barb was born on December 23, 1936, in Waterloo, WI, the daughter of Lawrence and Dora (Drager) Krause. She married the love of her life LaVern Seibel on June 15, 1957, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richwood and the couple enjoyed 63 years together. The couple worked and tended the family farm where they raised their ten children. She instilled a strong work ethic in her children and led by example on the farm, raising animals and baling hay alongside her husband. She was also a leader in the Richwood Rangers 4H club. Barb was a faithful member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, sang in the cecilian choir, and helped serve and coordinate funeral luncheons as well as worked in the kitchen for many years. She was a talented seamstress and knitter and embroidered baptismal garments for the church. This talent transferred over into her free time, and Barb enjoyed being a part of the homemaker’s club in the Town of Emmet and was a founding member of the “Caring Crafters” group at the Senior Center of Watertown. What started as just a few ladies joining together to knit and crochet together grew into a wonderful group of over 20 people who shared many memories and laughs together. Barb was an excellent mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all she knew, and will be deeply missed by those she leaves behind.
Barb is survived by: her 10 children Mary (Kelly) Smith, Mark (Gina), Gary, Douglas (Pam), Yvonne, Robert (LJ), Janice (Cory) Zimmermann, Karen Bonet, Susan (Geoff) and Peter (Joy); 22 grandchildren Jeremiah (Mareike), Nathaniel, Oliva (Alberto), Cody (Angel), Keegan (Trisha), Kelsey (Mike), Ethanne, Ameleighah (Luca), Izabehla, Haayden (Lauren), Gavin (Joanna), Emilly, Belinda, Amber, Hope, Grace, Aurea, Josephien (Joshua), Jared, Jonah, Josh and Elizabeth (Drew); 25 great-grandchildren; siblings Roger (Joanne) Krause, Jerry (Virginia) Krause, Nancy Cleveland and Sharon (Curtis) Anderson. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents and husband LaVern.
In lieu of flowers memorials to the This Time Tomorrow Foundation or St. Bernard’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
The family would like to extend a big thank you to Sunset Ridge in Johnson Creek and Rainbow Community Care for the outstanding care Barb received.
