Alzena L. Kidd

August 6, 1938 — February 9, 2026

Waterloo

Alzena Loreatta Kidd, age 87, of Waterloo, Wisconsin, passed away at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin, on February 9, 2026.

She was born in Avalanche in the town of Webster, Vernon County Wisconsin on August 6, 1938, to Mitchell and Bonnie (Dolan) Snodgrass.

Alzena was united in marriage to Leslie Kidd on December 28, 1954, and the couple enjoyed 69 wonderful years of marriage. She farmed for over 40 years.

Alzena was a devoted woman to her faith and family. The heart of her home was in the kitchen — the first place you entered and the place where everyone gathered. There you could find a jar filled with fresh cookies on the counter perfectly baked and shared with anyone who stopped by a family favorite was molasses.

Alzena took great pride in caring for those she loved, passing along her many talents and traditions. She had a gift for quilting, canning, cooking, and growing beautiful flower gardens and houseplants. Her hands were rarely still, and everything she touched was done with care and intention.

Alzena and Leslie built a life on the farm, where days were filled with the familiar scents of animals you could find them working the fields and milking cows. She took pride in raising her children surrounded by open land, hard work, and the rhythm of life in the farm.

Over the years, many dogs and cats were part of the family that followed behind her for treats. The farm was not just a home, but a place of resilience, laughter, and hard work.

Alzena embraced opportunities to travel, taking a cruise ship around Mexico, flying overseas to Switzerland, enjoying a scenic train trip across California and Washington, and joining bus tours to New Orleans, New York City, Ohio, Michigan and the Tulip Festival to name a few. She treasured the memories made along the way.

In her quieter moments, Alzena enjoyed playing cards, humming her favorite hymns and songs, rocking children to sleep with her music and playing the organ. Everyday was filled with love. She also enjoyed playing bingo, thrifting and was often lucky, bringing home stories and smiles along with her winnings.

Alzena’s life was marked by faith, generosity, hard work, and a deep love for those around her. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down and the memories her family will forever cherish. Alzena lived a life of love.

Alzena is survived by her four children: Phyllis (Thomas) Filter of Rhinelander, WI, Jeffrey (Debbie) Kidd of Powersite, MO, Duane (BabyLyn) Kidd of Rio, WI and Philip (Michelle) Kidd of Waterloo, WI; 13 grandchildren: Michelle Showers, Melanie (Cory) Brunner, Jennifer (Josh) Wagner, Daniel Kidd, Jessica Kidd, Justine (Ken) Midcalf, Michael (Liz) Kidd, Cassidy Kidd, Chelsea Kidd, Morgan (Kyle Hoffman) Filter, Naomi (Gerry) Ott, Justine Kidd, and Kenneth Kidd; 16 great-grandchildren: Londyn Wolff, Wynndham Wolff, Jordan Meyers, Dana Meyers, Jayley Wagner, Jameson Wagner, Josie Wagner, Jonah Wagner, Christian Narvaez, Quincy Tuck, Alice Midcalf, MacKenzie Midcalf, Trinity Midcalf, Ashtyn Brunner, Bodie Brunner, Jadelyn Kidd, Karter Ott; one great-great grandchild, Adalyn Fryda, and sister in-law Cleo Rohde of Florida.
