Allen H. Nelson, 76 of Ixonia, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Marquardt Health Center of Watertown.
Allen was born on April 23, 1938 in Watertown, WI - the son of Harvey & Vera (Copsey) Nelson. He married Erline Liermann on August 5, 1961 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Ixonia and the couple raised 5 children. He spent 30+ years employed at Waukesha Engine where "Nelly", as his co-workers affectionately knew him, started his career as a drill press operator, and was "elevated" to overhead crane operator. He later worked as a grinder and water tester. He loved spending time, winning at bingo, going to local casinos, traveling to Las Vegas and reading the Watertown Daily Times.
Allen is survived by: his wife Erline Nelson of Ixonia; Children Debra Nelson of Ixonia, Sally (Joseph) Higgins of Ashippun, Wendy Gross of Ashippun, Randy (Shelly Magsamen) Nelson of Ixonia and Jeff Nelson of Fort Atkinson; 5 Grandchildren Cory Roehl, Rachel (Travis) Layher, Cameron Roehl, Sam Gross, Kyle Nelson; 1 Great-Granddaughter Ella Layher; Sister Nancy Turnipseed of Watertown. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He is preceded by: his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Ixonia with Rev. Allen Tetzlaff presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of service. Burial will be at River Road Cemetery.
