Alex Nevarez

Alex John Nevarez, 20 of Watertown, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at his home.

Alex was born on June 28, 2000 in Watertown, the son of Mario Nevarez and Otilia Madrid. He was a graduate of Watertown High School. Alex had a huge heart, he loved making people laugh with his jokes and sarcasm. He was always looking good; he had a great fashion sense about his clothes and hair. Music was a big part of his life; playing the ukulele and singing the national anthem at many boxing events. Above all he truly enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs Mila and Chispas.

Alex is survived by his parents, siblings Oscar (Jessica Shain) Nevarez, Selina (Robert Kelly) Nevarez, Anissa (Mike Frey) Nevarez, Alissa (Arturo Villarreal) Nevarez, maternal grandfather Lorenzo Valerio, nieces Eliana and Aviana Villarreal, Rosalie Nevarez, nephews Robbie and Owen Kelly. He is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Yolanda Valerio and paternal grandparents Pedro Nevarez and Christina Chagolla.

A funeral service for Alex will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, July 10, 2020 at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home in Watertown with Rev. Augie Magestro presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
