Lois Carole Schoechert

February 3, 1929 ~ March 6, 2018 (age 89)

Lois Carole Schoechert entered eternal life on March 6, 2018 at Marquardt Health Center.

She was born on February 3, 1929, to Edward Schoechert and Lillian (Rath) Schoechert. She was a raised in a family of faith and music. She was baptized and confirmed at Watertown Moravian Church where she continued to serve her church family for many years as guest organist, Sunday school teacher, and participant in women’s Bible studies and other fellowship activities.  After graduating from Watertown High School in 1947, she obtained a teaching degree and taught kindergarten at Douglas School for several years. She was devoted to her family and lovingly served as the primary caregiver for her father, then her mother, and finally her aunt. The daily reading of The Holy Bible and Moravian Daily Texts were traditions passed down to her from her parents, which she then passed along to her Goddaughter. She enjoyed needlework and delighted her family with her special cookie recipes.  Lois spent the last 5 years of her life at Marquardt Health Center. The family would like to thank all those who cared for her during these years as her health declined and she needed to rely on the help of others. The family also extends thanks to those who visited her and blessed her with their friendship.

She is survived by her niece, Kathy (William) Russell of St. Charles, IL; her nephew, Andy (Diana) Myers of Yorkville, IL; three grandnieces, Meg Arbeiter (Matt Buczko) of Berwyn; Melissa (Jeff) Harms of Sugar Grove, IL; and Kristen Myers of Yorkville, IL; a grandnephew, Scott Myers of Aurora, IL; and her great grandnephew, Elliot Harms of Sugar Grove, IL. Lois was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sister, Jane Schoechert Myers of Aurora, Illinois.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 and a Memorial Service is planned for this spring at the Marquardt Health Center Chapel.
