Janet E. Butzine

September 29, 1933 ~ May 1, 2019 (age 85)

Janet E. Butzine 85, of Watertown passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Lilac Springs in Lake Mills.

Janet was born on September 29, 1933 in Ixonia the daughter of Charles and Florence (Gaugert) Dantuma.  She graduated from Oconomowoc High school and was a devoted member of Ebenezer Moravian Church in Watertown. Janet married Clarence Butzine on May 22, 1954 at the Watertown Moravian Church and the couple enjoyed 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2014.  She retired from Eaton Corporation after working as a receptionist and switch board operator for over 25 years. She had a love for gardening and working around the family farm. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting towels to give to her friends and family and taking pictures; there were not many times you would see Janet without her camera. Above all Janet enjoyed being around her family and friends, she will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known her.

Survivors include: son Gordon (Rhonda) Butzine of Lake Mills; daughters Barbara (Phil) Hanson of Ulysses, KS and Linda (Todd) Roum of Highland; 7 grandchildren Brittany Hanson, Cody Hanson, Kallee (Ben) Breuer, Weston Satern, Jessica Hanson, Lyndsey Roum and Paula Roum; great grandchild Everleigh Kuch and baby Breuer due in November; brother Howard (Jean) Dantuma of Iowa; and sisters Evie (Gerald) Arndt of Watertown and Sharon Fluger of Washington state. Janet is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, Brothers Ed and Ray and her sister Virginia.

A funeral service for Janet will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Ebenezer Moravian Church with Rev. Katie Van der Linden presiding. Visitation will be held on Saturday at 12:00pm at the church until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Ebenezer Moravian Cemetery.
